Acting for a Living
For those who have been in the industry for so long, acting can very well provide them the comfortable life that they want. However, if you have yet to make your mark in show business, the talent fee that you get from acting might not be enough to provide for you and/or your family. If the money turns out to be sufficient, it is more often an unstable source of money.
If that is the case, you might want to look for a more stable job that consistently provides for your financial needs. On the other hand, for those actors and actresses who have stayed long enough in show business, acting equals easy and big money. As an example, here are the top 3 highest paid celebrities in Hollywood:
Johnny Depp is an American actor and musician who made a mark in the industry for his portrayals of offbeat and bizarre characters. For the latest compilation on the highest paid celebrities released by Forbes, Johnny Depp ranked #1 earning $75million for the past year. Such earnings were mainly attributed to his blockbuster movies Alice in Wonderland, The Tourist and Public Enemies.
Known as an American comedian, actor, writer, film director and producer, Ben Stiller is a runner up on the list with an estimated $53 million worth of earnings for the past year. For the most part, the earnings were from his Meet the Parents. Given that Ben Stiller is also one of DreamWorks’ producers, his earnings are expected to rise with the release of the new animated movie Megamind.
Even at the third spot, Tom Hanks’ earnings are still huge at $45 million. He has been visible in numerous television series, movies and even produced, directed and written some of them such as the 1998 miniseries From the Earth to the Moon, 2001 miniseries Band of Brothers and 2006 Big Love. His performances in movies also paved the way for his nominations. The most recent of which was his nomination for Scream Award for Fantasy Actor in the 2010 movie Toy Story 3 and for Golden Gate Award for Best Actor in the 2007 movie Charlie Wilson’s War.
